Review on Inlaystickers Sticker/Decal (FT-050TG-WT) by Tyra Comeaux

Makes a cheap guitar expensive

I bought this for my cheap Mustang Squire Bullet. It was good in that each individual insert was a bit too long. This is how I managed to keep it unobtrusive and professional. I watched videos online on how to install them. Basically I used rubbing alcohol to clean the fretboard. Then use a ruler to cut straight across the bottom edge of each insert. I tried to make sure my ruler was perpendicular to the straight edge of the paper. Then I place the bottom of the cut piece on the waistband that will be below where you will be attaching the decal. That's how I just kept it. If the sticker was too long I carefully cut the underside of the top band with my very sharp razor. I agree with the person who suggested putting them on the dotted frets first and then filling in the rest. You just have to be careful and I wouldn't puncture every fret. Maybe lower a fret or two. Lay out the cut pieces so you know you will line them up correctly. It took maybe 2 hours to do it very carefully. Then use a little fretboard polish like lemon oil on a toothpick and dampen the wood around the decals and you're done! How it looks and feels will be the next question. You have to look very closely to see that these are decals. I mean maybe a foot or less. They are thicker than I would have liked. You can definitely feel them when playing. However, I had no trouble bending the notes. Or does it affect my playability at all? So if they last a while, I'm happy. Just take your time and everything will be fine. I mean clock! $150 Tree of Life Inlay Guitar! That's cool. I wouldn't put them on an expensive guitar.
