I bought this to make a desktop PSU out of an old ATX PSU. The 24-pin connector goes straight into the connector, and then each connector is labeled on the edge with the voltage on that pin. So if I need the old PSU, I don't disconnect any connectors and can just unplug it from the breakout board to plug in the computer, or I can replace the ATX PSU by just plugging in the new PSU.
