Review on πŸ” Creality Offline Photocuring Filter for Enhanced Printing by David Gibbs

Revainrating 5 out of 5

All in all a great resin printer, especially for the price

I've been doing FDM printing for a while, it was my first resin printer. Overall it's been a great experience so far. My friend bought a Photon S and I had more successful prints than him for half the price. Good things: The all-metal body is a nice touch and a feature not seen in many printers these days, and definitely not in this price range. - Alignment is very easy, you just loosen the 4 side screws, stick them home, die Tighten 4 screws on the side, done. - Parts seem pretty solid (screws, knobs, z-rail, etc.) - I've only had successful prints (except for one where it was entirely my fault). - Any resin you can use - Native ChiTuBox support. Not so good things: - The guide is not very helpful. The included Revain video/unboxing video is much more helpful. - Actually I'm not sure what the printer can do in terms of layer height. Creality (manufacturer) website lists the height as 0.01-0.05, online reviews say 0.02-0.05 and the manual/this listing says 0.03-0.05. I'll personally push it to 0.01 and 0.02 someday to see what happens. Haven't tried it yet as I don't see much of a difference between .02 and .03 other than increase in print time, so haven't bothered. - The control screen once stopped responding to touches even after turning it off and on again. I turned it off and back on for a couple of hours and it's been fine ever since. No cleaning or finishing instructions are included. You have to search for it on the internet. Interesting things that are neither good nor bad: - In some places/reviews it is shown to have a perforated buildplate. This model doesn't, and it's a solid metal plate. - Screen performance is lower than some brands and higher than some brands. Things I don't know: - I haven't tried any of the Creality resins as I've only been using the Elegoo resin at the moment. I haven't replaced the FEP yet, so I don't know how difficult the process will be. Beginner Tips: Each layer is printed on FEP film. This creates suction when pulling up to the next layer. The larger the surface, the more difficult it is to remove and the higher the risk that it will tear off the build plate instead. Rotate the models (even 10 degrees) to avoid contact with a large surface of a single layer.

Pros
  • Efficient cooling and filtering system
Cons
  • Small things
