They do exactly what I need them for - plug them into the Hue light strip controller I already have and let you add me light bar extensions directly to the controller. .When I moved I didn't realize that this part only came with the base/controller and I would need it to use the light bar extensions in the new location. Luckily, this wonderful article saved me nearly $50. At first I was apprehensive about trying it because it's not directly from Philips, but once I connected it and the light bar extensions worked, I knew I'd made the right choice. Sam
