I got this as a birthday present for my wife and she was very excited to try it. The light wouldn't have stayed on for more than a few seconds if she hadn't tried for a few minutes. Then for some reason, after turning it on and off a few times, it ended up staying on while she was using it and working as intended. The mirror was fully charged, so that's not the problem. I've seen some bad reviews on this product recently but decided to ignore them because I liked the performance, although there are a few 10x mirrors that shine a lot cheaper. don't be like me
