Review on Enhance Your Truck's Ride Quality with Monroe 37132 OESpectrum Shock Absorber by Blake Larson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Broke after just a few months

I purchased a complete set of Sensa-Trac shocks for my F-150 in March 2012. One of the rear shock absorbers is now leaking and will need to be replaced in just 10 months. The heaviest item I transported in my pickup is the sofa bed. I never overload my truck and am quite confused as to why the shock is leaking now. I understand that mistakes happen in any mass production process, but the Monroe shocks I've fitted in the past have lasted far longer than I ever thought possible. I understand that Monroe has a material defects guarantee, but it's quite difficult to go through the guarantee process for a simple shock. I am quite disappointed to say the least. **************** I initially gave this damper a bad review after believing it was leaking. I went to a regional chain of brake repair shops for an oil change. The technician showed me where the shock absorber was leaking. I decided to see if the problem was the shock absorbers or an attempt at cheating by the technician. It turned out that an unscrupulous technician was trying to replace the shock absorber, which was less than a year old. The leak stopped shortly after visiting the brake shop and the damper worked fine until I bought a new car.
