Not long ago I replaced a 2 1/2 inch hard drive on a Mac Mini with an SSD. The hard drive just sat on a shelf and I got tired of looking at it. I purchased these following the simple step-by-step guide suggested by a reputable designer and plugged a USB 3.0 cable into the back of a Macmini (Late 2014 model). and set up the time machine function. on a system I use from time to time. It's basically the computer my mom uses, but it's the only current Apple OS device I have and it's nice to learn how to use and troubleshoot different programs as I hope to someday to be able to use the PC skills I learned to make a few bucks. The blue LED on the device isn't very bright either, so it doesn't interfere with normal everyday computing and surfing on the Mac. I'd love to see some variant of some sort of switch or button on devices like this and other parts of computers that give the end user the ability to turn off the light. But that's just my opinion. I've seen one based on software-based wireless router firmware that allows the user to turn off the LEDs on the router and on an old Seagate GoFlex ToGo 1TB USB 3.0 external hard drive (again, software-based). But in terms of everyday use and the ability to back up data locally instead of in the cloud, this is a good option. Not everyone likes to use cloud services, but I use them every now and then. I have an old BackBerry Q10 phone that could run the Microsoft OneDrive/SkyDrive app and it came in very handy! It just gave me the ability to back up my photos and videos I took on my phone to the cloud and even integrate with the Blackberry 10 file manager, which I think is great and the perfect base for an app . Anyway, if like me you've replaced a 2 1/2" hard drive with an SSD to take advantage of your computer's speed and boot/shutdown and want to use an external drive on the go, slim, this is one of the many , which I would choose again. It's also durable. For portable hard drive enclosures, be careful not to be rude and drop the unit, otherwise it may damage the hard drive. The notched side, which is quite tight, is a good one Place to put these things in these laptop carrying cases because they kind of grab the bag and when you walk around it's practically stationary and doesn't slide around like a briefcase A state drive will work fine in these cases too but I use like old parts that i take from computers and use from time to time.hope you consider led brightness a deciding factor in any purchase you make.consider de n Purchasing a 24-inch HD display for daily computer use or for your small business workers, and the LED is almost blinding, annoying or tiring when creating a Microsoft Office document. Not very good. That being said, if you find yourself in this situation, a small piece of black masking tape will solve the problem - or maybe masking tape, which comes in a variety of colors depending on the brand you bought, as masking tape is NOT supposed to LEAVE THAT sticky residue - I got it over the winter used to seal a gap in a storm door in my basement from a door that needs a better seal and as the weather warmed up there was no sticky residue left on the door frame or the storm door, not on tape. comes in several widths.
