Review on Microsoft LXM 00001 Ergonomic Keyboard by Dangelo Toliver

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Nearly perfect next-generation ergonomics

I then switched to 4000 pro around 2001. Since then I haven't found another matching split keyboard design to my liking until I bought this Microsoft LXM-00001. I like the soft but distinct key action. Not as stiff as fully mechanical keyboards, but not as light as silicone keyboards. The pitch and angle of the slightly concave keyboards offer the best layout I've found. And there's something about the placement that feels a little better than the old 4000. The wrist pad also has a little concave padding that fits my hands like a gloved hand. The response time is intact. I'm only giving this five stars because whatever it is, it just doesn't get any better. My only wishes are a future wireless version and/or a version with backlit buttons. (Note: Adesso makes ergonomic backlit keyboards which are absolute crap! Keyboards have a 70% responsiveness at best and the action feels very jerky and sticky). I will say that if you settle for the best and prefer split ergonomics, Microsoft Sculpt is the gold standard for wired split ergonomic keyboards. However, you end up paying at least twice as much as you would for this LXM-00001. LXM-00001 is without a doubt a worthy alternative to Sculpt.
