DO NOT loosen the straps before the curtain is pulled horizontally.
I did not follow the written instructions in the box. I untied any dangling wires before attempting to hang the curtain. The results were catastrophic. I spent an hour separating the vertical strands, but it was an unmanageable mess. In the end I gave up and threw it in the trash. The fault was entirely mine, so I didn't feel I could in good conscience return it. I suggest that you carefully tie off each vertical thread when you put it away for storage, otherwise the next time you take it out you'll end up in the same spot as me.
