This sewing guide has a very strong magnet and will stay strong wherever you put it. The edges are a bit sharp. I will soften the edges before using it on my car so it won't scratch the surface. The only downside I have is that the magnet is not glued to the metal case and two pieces of rubber that were wedged on each side of the magnet fall out. When you are about to fire, the seam stopper is removed leaving the magnet attached to the machine. Gorilla Glue and I have a party and permanently attach a magnet to the sensor.
