This camera has problems. Front of Insta360 Go 2

This is my first time seeing anything but I had to come here to set a record. I only had problems with Insta360. Go 2. This thing is like a fiery celebration of the action camera world. The amount of money Insta360 must have invested to pay YouTube influencers to "review" their product should have gone to quality control instead. First, Go 2 freezes like crazy. It seems like nothing it can record for more than a minute without crashing every time after that. It either hangs during recording, sometimes causing file corruption, or after trying to start another recording. It also sometimes freezes after opening the case or trying to connect the camera to the case. All of this is becoming more and more common as the camera gets hotter. Unfortunately almost immediately. After just a minute of recording, the Go 2 is so hot you can barely touch it. I know it can't be good for its longevity and components even if you decide to combat freezing by hard resetting after every video. Next, the app is terrible. Or maybe it connects the camera to the app? In any case, they cannot maintain a WiFi connection for more than 30 seconds. This isn't enough time to even watch your videos, let alone download and edit them. Tried on 3 different devices and all had the same problem. Why not just connect it to your iPad/phone with a cable to avoid WiFi? Too bad he won't let you do that. To capture footage from my Go 2 I connected it to my laptop but even then it would sometimes disconnect! The worst thing is that the video and stabilization look amazing and the design is just awesome. I have memories of Cyberpunk 2077 where the game held so much promise and looked beautiful in the reviews but fell far behind when it was released to the public and real problems started to surface. I understand that Insta360 has been slow to ship with delays and I'm wondering if this is because they are trying to fix these issues before they hit the broader market. Maybe they were too quick and posted the sponsored reviews too soon before they were done. The Insta360 Go is so close to completely changing the game for action cameras, but the hardware just can't handle it. It's almost ridiculous that the only advice Insta360 support has is to reboot your device and make sure you have the latest firmware. downloaded as if it would solve everything. Maybe my Go 2 is a lemon and they will send me a replacement that actually works. Until then, I'll be posting this review to hopefully warn others to save their money ($300!) until the issues are resolved.

Pros
  • Camera and photo
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others

Just wish it had more battery life, but since it's so small I can't really complain!
