After MANY purchases I decided on this Emergency Crank/Solar/NOAA radio because the price was better than most even though it had the same features as more expensive radios. It has all the features you need when the power goes out. It also comes with a wrist strap and a small compass and carabiner (handy for attaching to a backpack or bug bag). Within minutes of cranking, I had enough power to hear all the bands. I pushed the alarm button and my cats flew across the room! It's noisy! The flashlight and reading lamp are BRIGHT. The volume is reliable. The NOAA band plays loud and clear. I also chose an analogue tuner radio (as opposed to a digital tuner) because it's more forgiving when browsing and searching for stations. If I could find any negative reviews it would be only this one: People with arthritis or those who have trouble dealing with small dials and buttons might struggle a bit. It's a miniature.
