Review on ☕ Kicking Horse Coffee Three Sisters: 2.2lb Medium Roast Organic Fairtrade Whole Bean - Kosher Certified by David Lesperance

It smelled bitter and bad when I broke the seal on the box

I'm not a whiner or a whiner so now that it's out of the way - I use a good SS percolator and one Coasters while I brew coffee. I've looked at a lot of reviews that said this coffee was smooth but not with me! When I opened the bag the beans smelled burnt - not so good ahhh that just made my day! The first pot I made was light after 10 minutes of oozing over medium heat - it looked like tea and had very little flavor - it didn't taste good at all so I started with a completely fresh pot - ground beans were a bit smaller. and repeated the process - it darkened a bit, but the taste is rancid and bitter at best! I kept trying to find that "sweet spot" with a few more pots and different temperatures, but to no avail! The roast date was just over a month ago, so it shouldn't matter much. It could just be a bad batch - it can happen! I won't be using this again, 2.2 pounds wasted! Oh yes, my house stunk - very unfriendly! Even Starbucks makes better coffee than here. When I think about it 1 hour after the last cup, my pan is still bitter.
