Although I use mink oil, it contains sugar, which is very damaging to the skin. With Neatsfoot Oil you get color and protection as well as suppleness without leaving your skin beyond the breaking point as this product contains no sugars or fatty acids. I use it for both watch straps and boots. Also, this product will not rub or discolor threads and stitch or sew on leather. Note the white stitching on my watch strap which is currently covered in three coats of oil. I also treated the original HAMILTON watch strap to make it darker and richer.
