My cats can clean up ANYWHERE. I have been using the Original Petmate tray for over 20 years. When I last replaced it there must have been a manufacturing change because it had a rim around the rim where urine pooled. So rude. After going to the pet store I looked for a better option but was disappointed to see the same old pet boxes on the shelves. A very nice girl who worked there suggested I order one of these from Amazon to try and fix the problem with collected urine (seriously mate, collect your shit) and less litter splatter. I was hesitant because this seems like an expensive litter box for my cats, but gosh I'm so glad I tried it. When I say this box is brilliant, I mean it. I don't know how they still manage to throw out the trash, but I can actually walk into their bathroom and the trash doesn't crunch under my feet. This eliminates the daily sweeping and to me it's worth a lot more than what I paid for it. And my cats look like they're in a spaceship when they're doing their thing because they like to do it upside down. General bonus.
