One of my coworkers bought this and brought it to work. I thought it was hilarious, so I bought one for my boyfriend for Christmas. It arrived packaged nicely and the gimmick works as advertised; the hamster will speak back everything you say in a high pitched voice while bouncing up and down. It was endlessly amusing on Christmas, but now the hamster generally only makes appearances when guests come over or when we're feeling especially silly. I doubt he'll get put away anytime soon, but there's only so many minutes of amusement in being mocked relentlessly by a robot hamster.One thing we've noticed is that he will get into a mode where he will only repeat about a second of speech, then stop. Sort of a "chirp". This generally happens after we've been talking to him for a while, so we're not sure if he "gets tired" or if this has more to do with us saying very short phrases at him and then him getting used to it and refusing to say longer phrases. Not really a big deal, as rebooting hamster seems to fix the issue.All in all, this was a great gift to round out the holiday offering.
