I received this product because I have cerebral palsy and with this cerebral palsy I have a sensory disorder as well as muscle spasms and stiffness all over my body. Because I'm in pain, I'm often restless in my sleep. Since I bought this blanket it has helped me with my sensory disorder, instead of my body telling my brain something is touching every inch of my skin, the pressure of the blanket is very relaxing and sends it to my brain instead of relaxing me Body. The blanket can also neutralize some of my spasms before I start cramping my whole body muscles, sometimes giving me enough time to take the meds before my body spirals out of control. I can't give you any medical reasons why this blanket works as I'm not a doctor, but my sleep quality has greatly improved. I'm hiding. I focus on my weighted blanket for a moment, just the fact that it's there when I close my eyes, and the next thing I know I'm asleep. If there is one downside to this product, it is the fact that if you sleep with it on, it will make it difficult for you to sleep without it. You enter that weird sleep state where your eyes are closed, but part of your brain is still awake, knowing you're not under a weighted blanket, that you're half asleep and aware of what's going on around you goes. to the fact that I would never buy a weighted blanket I wasn't strong enough to lift. Also, I would never roll over or curl up on my way to the ceiling because 20lbs becomes 40lbs etc. The way they tell you to determine the weight you need is wrong, I would go with Go 5-10 pounds less than what they say you need. The last thing you need to know is that they're trapped in the heat. You need a cooler room or environment with a weighted blanket.
