I loved Pampers diapers when my daughter was little but when she started crawling I'm dutifully in the middle of her school year switched to cruisers at a rate of 3 because I felt like I "should" now that she was actively moving. But I've worn my son in diapers up to a size 6 and then switched him to a size 7 cruiser and he's been fine too. Overall, I'm happy with the cruisers. During the day she wore a Cruiser 3 and then a size 4 and at night Huggies Overnight (she soaked her Cruisers at night and Huggies Overnights are by far the best!) I had a chance to compare the Swaddler to the Cruiser. I am a size 4 and I can see the difference by looking at the diaper myself. Swaddlers are softer (thicker) while cruisers have a stronger elastic band. And of course nappies have a yellow and blue stripe that shows when the nappies are wet. I personally don't need this strip given my daughter's current size. The days when babies slept in a crib, slept quietly, peed the size of a teaspoon, and when it was wet, I know. Diaper: thicker, with yellow stripes. leaky (21 lbs. I size up diapers early) Neither is good for an overnight stay for a toddler who is actively soaking diapers. But there are night diapers! In general, I can't say I have a preference between them. If you love nappies and/or really want stripes, then stick with nappies and don't worry about switching to nappies because your baby is crawling/walking. If you use cruisers and are happy, don't let the fact that you can get a size 4 diaper make you wonder which is best. In my opinion there is not much difference. The diapers are just as good for my very active 13 month old. Choose a diaper by price or by cartoon character on the front or by need. I really don't think there is a huge functional difference between swaddlers and cruisers.
