Review on 🎬 Inflatable Outdoor Movie Screens - 200 Inch Holiday Styling Projector Screen for TV & Movies - Portable, Front & Rear Projection - Blow Up Screen by Pete Norris

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent quality, easy to fold and take off by yourself.

SEE IMAGE SIZES ON HOLIDAY STYLINGS WEBSITE BEFORE this size sells out. This is the second one I've ordered because it's so wonderful. I ordered one for a nonprofit I work for that hosts movie nights in the park for the community. After seeing how easy it is to install the park and the quality of the material, I had to get one. (I've always built my own backyard theater at the house with king-size sheets.) I bought a large tub to keep everyone in. The triple oxford cloth frame is very strong and way better than anything I've researched. This is a 600DD Oxford fabric, similar to heavy duty canvas (like in a sailboat). It's not flimsy vinyl like the inflatable pool toys and it's not polyester parachute material like these inflatable lawn party decorations. It was the largest screen I could find with a detachable screen. This is a jersey t-shirt that supports rear projection (which means it's thin enough to let through bright projector light). Another screen I looked at was the Loch IWS 200, but its screen is non-detachable. I'm afraid the screen will get moldy in storage and wish it could be washed if needed. In the park, we do rear projection so that people don't walk in front of the projector, trip over cables, etc.) There is a small hotspot in the rear projection through which you can see the projector lamp that is lit in the center if you are seated correctly. (See Figure 3.) Anything slightly off-center will do. With front projection, you see very bright light coming through the back of the screen (headlights, street lights, backyard lights, etc.). Therefore, position the screen so that it is completely dark behind it. At home, I have a problem with my neighbor's brightly lit garden. I think I can tie a tarp to the top loops and make some sort of blackout fabric in the back to help. The main disadvantage is that there must be a wider frame at the bottom. As other reviews have said, with the screen centered, you literally have to put the projector on the floor. You can't mount it on a table or anything, it would be too high and would leave the top of the screen. I placed the projector on a piece of wood so it wouldn't fall on the grass. I would love to find a way to elevate the screen, say tie it to 2 benches of a picnic table or something. In the park, the screen is installed on the stage and we place the projector directly on the stage floor. I'm in my 40's and can put it on and take it off myself. Inflation takes less than a minute. I know how to properly position the screen so it doesn't tip over on its own when inflated. Just lay it out in the open. Use the logo below as a guide. It's the same with losing weight. I turn off the fan and immediately pull back the top corners as it falls so they rest squarely on the bottom back corners. Then I just open the extra vent and let it deflate. I'm not trying to force air out. Just leave it there for a while while you collect everything else. Then fold the front corners up and back so they meet the other corners. Fold it in half again. (Like a leaf!) Then you can roll it up. (I roll on both sides, meeting in the middle.) The rolls are about 2 1/2' - 3' long and I can pick them up and put them in the tub myself. I leave the screen on. At home I live on a beach with very high evening condensation, so I blow it out again the next day to dry it completely in the sun, as I'm afraid of mold. I also keep the silica gel packets that are scattered around (to dry wet phones) and tossed a few in my bathtub. Yes, the blower sounds loud when you sit near it and that's the only thing that works. I was afraid my elegant sound wouldn't be enough to drown it out, but it was more than good. You never heard the blowers once the movie started. And all I use is a pair of computer speakers and a portable music speaker powered by a DVD player via old-school RCA cables. Nothing special! You can try to muffle it a bit by putting a box/tub on top, but you'll have to cut holes in the sides of the box to let air in. So the box doesn't stick much. I think that's enough. The screen quality and ease of assembly are excellent. It gets lots of compliments all the time, especially when you use it in the garden. The size is huge by human standards!

Pros
  • QUIET AND FAST INFLATION: The outdoor screen has an electronic fan that inflates in minutes. That means less waiting and more time to set up your projector and get your speakers ready for the big event!
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
