Definitely not everything I was hoping for

I wanted to love this bag. I really did. As someone who owns many, many bags, I had high hopes that this Kenneth Cole bag would become my next favorite. It's not like this. First, the front latches are VERY difficult to open. You have to push and pull, push and pull, until finally everyone releases a chokehold on the receiving end. It's quite inconvenient when you need to quickly open the front of your bag to access your documents, laptop, etc. at the start of a meeting. Customers look at you like you're crazy as you wrestle with infernal pens. Second, if you wear items both front and back, your back flap will not fit properly. The magnets are strong, but not strong enough to hold the flap with the items inside in the right position. This makes the bag look crooked (i.e. heavy at the front) when carried and the back flap bulges against you. Third, the tape looks cheap. While the bag is made from very nice cognac leather with nice stitching and embossing, the strap is cheap webbing with a leather pad that should rest on the shoulder. The shoulder strap should have been the same leather as the bag body, in my humble opinion. So what do I like in a bag? Color and skin are beautiful. It is so beautiful that I felt the need to buy a new bag and laptop bags similar in color and material to this bag. Now I have a very nice set. The leather appears to be well worn. Let's hope the stitching holds up because that's usually the first thing to fail on a bag like this. And once it does, you can just throw it in the trash because it can't be fixed. I guess I got what I paid for with this bag? While it hasn't cost Coach, it's expensive enough that you'll want it to match the Kenneth Cole brand. And frankly, this particular bag isn't true. I wouldn't buy it again if I was considering it.
