Review on Experience The Medieval Era With The Renaissance Costume Women'S Chemise Dress by Bob Collins

Revainrating 4 out of 5

As expected, would work better over or under something else

I am 5'10", 210lbs, 40DD and breastfeeding (can nurse just fine in this!) I got the navy 3xl because I wanted it to be too big rather than too little, and of course it fits just right :/ Tag says 90% polyester, 10% spandex. I'm wondering if it might be too hot but so far it's okay; the skirt being long and loose helps. The skirt doesn't enhance more than your natural shape by itself (it's still feminine, though!), but layering over/under it would help it be more voluminous. The dress comes down to my ankles. I intend to wear this with the sleeves up on my shoulders (though I like the other way, too) for a last-minute, first-time ren fest, and for that purpose it will be great! The drawstring at the neck is purely decorative, but with the elastic, it's not necessary anyways.Things I'm picky about:The bottom of the sleeves has no ruffles, just elastic, and the bottom of the smocking is the same way. I would feel better about the look of it if I were wearing something over it.The smocking tends to ride up under the bust (even if the sleeves are off the shoulder) when I wear my nursing bra but if you have a smaller cup, wear something more supportive/boosting (bra, bodice, corset, whatever), or are fine with showing more chest it probably wouldn't be a problem.Overall, I like it pretty well!

Pros
  • I like the material and that it’s stretch and it’s flattering. The dress fits perfectly I love it .
Cons
  • Cheap accessories
