Bought this blanket for the coming winter. Here we have 19-degree nights and snow all winter. So I haven't used it yet but will update this review. I have to say that delivery was quick and the blanket came in a very nice zipped bag which I intend to keep during the summer months. What worries me is that it's so bloated it doesn't fit lol. I am also writing today because of the quality of the blanket. It's absolutely beautiful! They spent extra time on craftsmanship and looks. The edges are beautifully stitched and look like a very expensive blanket! It is heavy and the material used appears to be of good quality and will give the vet a long time to use. For me a pleasant to touch material. Feels like thick cotton. I'd say it's soft, but be warned it's new. I'll bet a million dollars after washing and drying, it gets softer and cozier, like cotton, with every wash. It didn't have the smell people talk about. I posted it a few days and the boy was sulking. I will only use it in winter because it is warm. I also bought a heated mattress pad to work in combination to keep us warm. I hate sleeping with the fire on, but obviously we have to do it sometimes or we get cold. So I hope it's not a gimmick this year. I also ordered a duvet with good reviews for the summer. It was $24 with tax/shipping only $30.00. I pray it works for the summer. I will update more in winter.
