Not thick and difficult to put on initially

This is very thin and is more of a thin fabric as a moisture barrier than anything that provides warmth. My 4 year old daughter also had a very hard time understanding this. It can be worn in different ways; over the mouth and nose, lower the part of the mouth to the neck, and then in the form of a scarf.

Pros
