I've been changing car air filters for at least 15 years since they became popular in cars. I have used this air filter for about a year / less than 10,000 miles on my 2012 Subaru Legacy. The filter came out all bent and deformed. I can usually go longer without air filters, but I've found that they don't (and never have) filter odors very well. I mostly drive this car on the Autobahn in normal conditions so there is no reason why the filter should look like this. It looks that way because it's a cheap paper-thin filter, which is junk. You get what you pay for.
