Review on Magnifying HITTI Stepless 8 Diopter Magnifier Lighting & Ceiling Fans by Duke Ballard

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It's like a table lamp with a magnifying glass, only smaller. And a little more.

I was disappointed with this light. Size: Slightly smaller than expected. One of the photos shows the dimensions, so there is no distortion here. However, if you think that it will be the same size as most lamps of this style, you will be surprised. Above. The base is not heavy/big enough. If you think you will install it on the edge of a table from the above. You will be disappointed. If you use a clip and attach it to the back or side of a table/bench it probably won't be useful as a magnifying glass as it won't reach. In this case, it can be as good as easy. When using a weighted base, be prepared to have the base in your work area. Light output: Pretty good ring light, but wish it was 50-100% brighter. Magnifying glass: not surprising, but decent. Of course it's not bad. I was happy with that aspect. Power Cord/Switch: Annoying. It is powered by a USB adapter. I'm really fed up with this trend of running everything with USB adapters. The power cord was a bit short for my case, but I think that's probably a godsend for most. The power switch is built into the cable - very annoying. For a table lamp, it must be at the base or at the head (in this case at the head, since the base is modular). Overall quality: Not very good. Parts don't fit (I'm thinking about fitting the arm to the base). The soft finish on the underside of the base was poorly applied and cracked when I tried to fix it. a different product but I bought it for how it looked with a casual look. I could probably change it to something I'm happy with, but seriously; I didn't buy it because I wanted a project. I thought it would help with other projects.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Not satisfied with everything
