I've been trying to wear contact lenses for the past few months and no matter what brand I've tried and how well it fits, you'll fall in love with my eyes only foggy, red and irritable for the first hour or two. My doctor suspected some kind of allergy or reaction to the solutions, so I tried almost everything. Even the hydrogen peroxide, which claims to have no preservatives after neutralization, gave me some kind of reaction in my eyes. Despite the lack of preservatives, these systems still have a surfactant that I may have reacted to. As a last resort, I decided to go 100% preservative free and bought a Purilens UV system that uses this saline solution. I didn't expect it to get any better as I realized my eyes just weren't compatible with contact lenses, but I was really shocked when the lenses just disappeared from my eyes. I can now wear lenses all day (over 12 hours) with clear and sharp vision. Plus, the UV system works in 15 minutes, so you can take off and put on your lenses for a shower or a break. I'm not sure why this method isn't more popular as it's quick, chemical free and seems to work very well. The saline is well packaged and the bottle has a great opening that makes it easy to control the flow. Because it's pure saline, I don't feel anything if it gets in my eyes.
