Great product. I roast my coffee beans at home and have tried different types of containers to keep them fresh. Freshly roasted ground coffee beans "bloom" when you add water to brew a cup. Looks like bubbles of gas, probably carbon dioxide, from beans. This will disappear after a few days of normal storage. In the air, my coffee blooms for 7-10 days. I was really amazed. Like fresh bread, coffee only stays fresh for about a week. Minimizing exposure to oxygen appears to preserve freshness. Oxygen is the enemy of coffee freshness and this canister clearly keeps it fresh. I think the trick is the inner lid, which falls down to the level of the beans (or whatever you're trying to store). This minimizes the space where air (and oxygen) comes in contact with what you are storing. The 64 oz size is good for holding enough roasted whole beans to brew coffee for two weeks (one cup per day). But there would be enough space. Airscape Metal does not affect the taste/aroma of the beans. Easy to clean. Good product. 5 Stars.
