I bought these to sew on the buttons on the sides and donate to my local hospital (for staff who are required to wear masks). I was worried they might look too girly, but based on the good reviews and the low price, I figured I'd just pin the bows onto the back half of the headbands so they wouldn't be too noticeable if a man (or woman ) this would do like no bows) thought . But I was so happy when they arrived - the headband itself is just a high quality, soft, elastic headband, the same thickness all over, and then the bow is a separate piece that ties around the headband. , with internal wire for shaping. So whoever receives these headbands can remove the small bow or adjust it to suit their style. Detaching the headband also makes the headband a little larger, so people can use the headband to adjust the size as they like. The fabric is comfortable to the touch and the seams are secure and look pretty good (except for one of 12 headbands that had excess fabric hanging from the seam, which I sewed together to make sure it was secure). I think they will hold up well in the machine wash. The colors are beautiful, the fabric is not cheap. Of all the bandages I ordered, I liked these the best, including ones from a well-known American pharmacy brand - the material feels and looks nicer, and they have a larger diameter. I haven't tried them on as they are donated but if the hospital is still looking for head donations in the future I will buy them.
