YES YES YES! I've needed that all my life. I have a penchant for large water bottles, I believe 64 ounces and up, and no cup holder in any car can hold water bottles that size. I usually end up with him standing in one of my seats. But while driving sometimes (always) the traffic isn't the smoothest and my poor stainless steel water bottle gets thrown on the floor of the car, as you can see by the way it hits the outside of the car it still looks wonderful water bottle.
