These hanging rods appear to be made of high quality metal. I believe they will stand the test of time as they appear indestructible! We had some trouble figuring out exactly how to hang them on the drywall. Through trial and error we ended up buying some heavy duty drywall anchors at a hardware store. We also had to color the screw heads that came with the drywall dowels, as the matching screws did not fit any of the dowels sold. It would be nice if the product came with heavy duty drywall anchors/screws OR included a link to a video showing how to hang them step by step, especially on drywall. We have them with clothes now and they are not undressed yet. I only give 4 stars because of the installation issues. They look very nice and are reasonably priced for real, durable metal. My daughter says her new dressing room looks like a fashion boutique.
