This is the Japanese version but it's no different apart from the O select key and the X back key. Another thing I didn't think of until I got it was the power supply. Japan has the same plug as North America. However, Japan runs on 100V and the US on 120V. There is a converter on the power supply itself that will accept any power from 100V to 240V covering the whole world. So you don't have to worry about using the charger in the US. The system is great and I'm so glad I got a brand new one after returning a battered used one I got from GameStop.
