We bought this microwave popcorn maker because we were looking for a healthy alternative to the Jolly Time popcorn bags we were previously using. We also hope to save money. This device works great for me. I put in five tablespoons of popcorn and it's ready in about 4-5 minutes. Then I add two tablespoons of melted butter and a pinch of salt. Now I know what goes in my popcorn and I really like it. My husband doesn't like popcorn because he likes to add more oil and likes popcorn cooked in oil. The two times he tried this, the popcorn either burned out or not all of the kernels exploded. He returned to cooking on the stove. Love the fact that the silicone is dishwasher safe so it's easy to clean. I find it very easy to use and have had no trouble folding it every time. I think it might open too early causing the popcorn to crumble in the microwave, but that's no big deal. We found a place to buy popcorn in bulk for $0.55 a pound and butter for $1.06 a pound. This is a significant saving for us as we can freeze the butter until we need it as it has a frozen shelf life of 6 months.
