My 108" x 90" 100% cotton taupe comforter arrived a few hours ago. With the warmer weather here, I was dying to put it on our bed. I took it out of the box and noticed a slight smell, but more like the smell of plastic packaging, and I was going to wash it anyway, so I didn't care. When I pulled it out it looked like it was smaller than a king size so I checked the packaging and it said 'Royal'. That's how it should be, since it's so thin and light, which is probably why it looked a little smaller than I expected. I washed cold and tumble dried cool as instructed - I figured this blanket wouldn't shrink much. I checked half way and there was quite a bit of lint in the dryer, I expected to have to change it frequently during the drying cycle as I run reviews of 100% blankets producing quite a bit. In the end I checked again and there was almost nothing. I was shocked but very glad maybe it didn't decrease! So I keep putting it on my bed and the label catches my attention. - written 100% polyester! I am dissatisfied because I wanted and ordered a blanket that was advertised as 100% cotton but received 100% polyester. I kept putting it on the bed thinking that maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised and like this duvet, although it's not what I ordered. when I realize that it's actually a bit smaller than it should be. So I measure. This 108x90 large quilt measures 95x90. I don't understand how this is possible. If it is 100% cotton and mislabeled polyester it will shrink in width and length. not just width and probably not 13 inches! And if it's 100% polyester and it was actually 108x90 to begin with, it shouldn't shrink (polyester doesn't shrink), so I think I got a polyester blanket that was 13 inches shorter than the description said. Needless to say I am not at all happy with this purchase. If you don't care for polyester or cotton I would say the color is what I expected from a taupe and it's very light.
