I wanted to reduce battery drain with the parking lights on and had to put them on a Hyundai Elantra. In parking light mode, they consume 0.015 A, so about 0.2 W, while a conventional lamp consumes 5-8 W depending on the type. So you draw MUCH less and the brightness is about the same. Traffic light mode draws 0.14A, which is around 1.7W, but for some reason it doesn't look much brighter than when parked. It's a little brighter, but not by much (not 8 times). One thing I noticed is that when I apply the brake and turn on the brake element, the parking light also gets a little bit of voltage, which illuminates the tail light on my switch. It's okay, but I thought I'd mention it. UPDATE: Okay, I got her out of the car. Did I mention that part of the backlight comes on when you apply the brakes? Well, apparently the opposite is also true: when you turn on the headlights or parking lights, power is apparently being sent to the circuit that controls the brake lights. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but if you plan to use cruise control at night (or if you have your headlights on), you're out of luck. The computer assumes you are applying the brakes (since there is voltage in that circuit when the headlights are on) and will not let you engage the cruise control. I also noticed that pressing the brake turns on the dash lights as if the parking lights were on. In short, they return to the seller. If anyone knows of bulbs that don't share LEDs between parking and braking modes please let me know.
