I've always had sensitive teeth and gums and my dentist keeps telling me that I'm brushing too hard and my gums are sagging. I try and remember not to push as hard, but I forget pretty quickly. After a lot of research I finally decided on Sonicare and I am very happy with it. I love the 4 to 30 second timers that tell you when to switch sides and when to brush your teeth for the full 2 minutes. I no longer press on my teeth, I have less sensitivity issues and I've noticed my teeth are a shade or two whiter. 2 minutes of brushing your teeth is a lot longer than you think! After cleaning with Sonicare, I feel like I just went to the dentist after a check-up. I agree with others that it is advisable to start with less power and gradually increase it. I did this within a week of learning to keep my mouth closed while brushing my teeth. It's a different experience but much better than the standard cleaning in my opinion.
