Quiet. The pump of the pump model I bought works great. I dip the supplied white hose into the same drain that is used for the washing machine. This is higher than the dehumidifier. I don't use the included gravity drain that connects to a garden hose. I love that it has three fan speeds compared to two on many of its competitors. Was surprised that the compressor doesn't make much noise when switched on and I haven't heard the water pump yet. Never heard of this company. Not rated by Consumer Reports. But please, up to 1 month. What I dislike about all dehumidifiers currently sold is that their fans keep running when the humidity level is reached. The compressor just shuts off. The unit I replaced, the fridge, turned off the compressor and then turned on the fan after the hat until the humidity picked up again. Now all these brands and others say that the fans stay on all the time when the device is powered on. So I run this with a low fan speed. When using the pump, expect it to be about ¾ full and about ¼ empty. So there is residual water that could have grown in the basement water. So you can from time to time (a month or two). empty by hand and spray on some Lysol or a similar disinfectant. I let it sit and then washed it off. Didn't think about damaging the pump impeller. with chemicals. Otherwise, use the gravity drain option.
