. We were driving our van and had a problem with the mass air flow sensor. I bought a remanufactured sensor from the national auto parts store for $120 and installed it. This seemed to solve the problem, we continued our journey and I didn't elaborate further. Four months later, but only a few miles later, while preparing for my biennial smog check, I plugged in an OBD2 reader and found that the fuel trim readings were uncomfortably high at 14%. I ordered this from Revain for 1/4 the price thinking it might not be very good at that price but maybe that would suggest that the sensor was in fact the problem. Well it brought the fuel trim down to a comfortable 3-4%. The defective sensor was under warranty so I returned it, refunded the money and am now a happy tourist.
