Samsung Evo Plus and SanDisk Extreme

A better comparison would be the Samsung Pro range of SD cards with SanDisk Extreme, but I was curious to see how the more affordable card would compare to the more familiar card . be one of the fastest. There is a newer version of SanDisk Extreme called A2. So if you buy, get the newer version. As you can see, both tests are very similar in their results. The budget EVO Plus has about 20MB/s slower write speeds than the more expensive Extreme, but that's a pretty negligible difference for read speeds. For action cameras with constant recording I would buy Extreme and for EVO Plus I would use something that doesn't require many writes, such as storage for phone or drive for Raspberry Pi. That's not to say the EVO Plus doesn't work in an action camera. The new GoPro 7 Black records 4K at 78Mbps, which is around 9.75MB/s, so even the EVO Plus at 68MB/s shouldn't be a problem, but a faster card can only help.

Pros
  • Micro SD Cards
Cons
  • Crumpled Packaging
