My 1980's mallet is finally gone and it looked like a good replacement that didn't have all the unnecessary bells and whistles. I liked the timeless style and design (if it ain't broke don't fix it), it feels good in the hand, the lack of strong vibrations so the wrists don't hurt. I also like that it was easy to insert and remove the attachments and clean everything. There were five speeds, which is plenty for all of the cooking and baking I do. And I have to say I appreciated the bread hook the first time I made a very small mini loaf (my first try!) compared to my full size mixer. It's not overly loud and the cord is long enough to reach the plug without tugging.
