I personally always hate when you take the lid off of something and water comes out of the lid and it's very hot. I definitely don't want to put a lid on my new hard surface countertops and ruin them, and placing them on top of the stove is either annoying because of the water mess or not possible when you're using the entire stove. It was made for a picky newbie like me. Now I can safely close the lid and not worry about where all that hot water is going. Installation is as simple as turning two round screws until the stem clicks into place. No tools are required and it can easily be done in 30 seconds. It's also easy to clean and looks great in a stainless steel kitchen. I recommend this to everyone!
