Ungrateful Cats Survive a Fire Alarm

Like most of the reviewers here, I bought after the bad experience of evacuating my two cats during a fire alarm. I needed something I could easily carry around and both fit in, bonus points if I could store it compactly. They both weigh 13-14 pounds and are about 16 inches long from nose to butt. They were pretty tight, but there's really no way you can make the bag bigger and still carry a small person (it's hard for a small person not to tip over with it as it is). I would NOT use this for a long car ride, maybe not even a 15 minute trip to the vet. But next time the fire alarm goes off, all three of us will be safe! It's totally worth the peace of mind it brings. EDIT: Testing it with the fire alarm in my building this week. I put the backpack on my back with the two front windows up, pulled the babies out of their hiding places and threw them straight in. It was amazingly painless compared to putting them in hard plastic carriers (they usually grab metal doors and resist entry, but due to the flexible material there was nothing to hold on to until they were inside). We were the first to leave the building. Turns out this time it was a small real fire in another unit and no one was hurt but now I'm 100% sure they're safe. Bonus: none of the dozens of evacuated dogs noticed them in the backpack and left them alone, and I received many compliments!
