Great for unruly nannies

I bought this activity cube for my 9 month old baby because he was lagging behind in gross motor development. In particular, both my husband and I have noticed that she is not very interested in sitting. We could have put her in a sitting position but she just stumbled forward and crawled away to play with toys on the floor. So I wanted a toy that would encourage them to sit. All of our toys appeared to be suitable for either floor based babies or stand up/walker based babies, not seated ones. I felt like we needed something that would actively encourage my daughter to sit, so I did some digging and settled on this. It had great reviews but was relatively cheap so why not give it a try? And it works! She fell in love with this toy the moment she saw it. She still loves him, a few days later. And that seems to encourage them to sit. We can put her right in front of a toy and she will hold it and play for minutes, which is much better than her previous sitting record. As a parent, I love that there is nothing in this toy that requires assembly. I took it out of the box, turned it on and it was ready to use. Since it comes with batteries already, I didn't even need a screwdriver to open it. This is so much better than taking out my toolbox before the toy is ready to play! If you have a child learning to sit, say, around the age of 6-12 months, this is a great alternative to activity tables, which may be better suited to older children.
