If your child is interested in the world of microbes, this is the perfect addition to satisfy their curiosity. I bought this for my neighbor's 3 year old son who asked about germs for Christmas. When I found it there was no doubt that he would get it. Huge microbes are available in heaps. It seems that there is a microbe for the treatment of almost every disease. Although the product is great and he loved it, I gave it 3 stars because I'm a little deceiving the picture. This item does not come with a picture of a petri dish which would be a great addition and the information card shown is actually a tag. It would be much better if the information card was actually a card and presented as something valuable and not something that is most often thrown away. They are also slightly smaller than you might expect. I've actually bought one before and was disappointed with the size leading me to buy a stomach bug. However, given my frustration, I will buy more of these if my neighbor's son remains interested enough in Microbes to request them. They were a huge hit with him and that's what really mattered in the end.
