Review on 🎨 Holbein Artist Gouache Set: 18 x 5ml Tubes for Vibrant, Professional Artwork by Denise Davis

Now I knew these tubes were going to be small but when they arrived and I opened the box I was amazed. Yes, these tubes are tiny compared to the standard gouache tubes, and yet they're oddly cute. My five star rating is based on the fact that their size makes them universal for a specific group of artists. For plein air painting and city sketching, I would say the size is perfect if you want to travel ultra light. For people just learning the environment, this is a great test suite. It will also give me an idea of how Holbein gouache paints compare to other brands. Due to the tiny size, I'll be able to fit white in my handbag paint set and maybe a few other colors. If I want to paint somewhere with my Plein Air kit that needs a color that isn't normally in my palette, I can just grab this kit and not have to worry about space. I would say if you paint a 4x6 painting with a limited palette of 3 colors plus white you can get around 4-6 paintings out of each tube if you don't waste paint letting it dry. You can also reconstitute gouache, but it's unlikely to ever have a creamy consistency, like it's freshly squeezed out of a tube. This is a rough estimate based on painting thin to thick.
