I sew A LOT so iron and iron a LOT. My 12 year old granddaughter was starting to get interested in sewing so I gave her my old iron and decided to buy a new one. After trying many irons I settled on this one. I didn't want to spend as much as I did for the one I gave away and this one had most of the features I was looking for. I'm not going to badmouth Sunbeam because I know they make good products, but I really think I got a lemon. It definitely doesn't get as hot as my previous iron on the same settings, and the steam function is practically useless. The straw that broke the camel's back happened today when I was trying to fuse some fleece onto the bags I made. It took ages and still didn't do a satisfactory job. I will also contact Sunbeam. Don't rely solely on my review when purchasing this iron. They've obviously sold a lot of these flat irons and I'm sure most of them work like gems. I have a melody right now.
