I bought this speaker thinking it was an upgrade to 60W. I usually test products before I buy them, but my time was limited. Let's start with "It's not a 60W speaker, it's a regular 40W speaker." The sound quality was good, but it wasn't as loud as I thought it would be. I have a Skull Candy Sky Raid speaker which is louder than this product but is much smaller and a meager 10-15 watts. The bass is certainly there, but at full volume it sounds like a chaotic hiss or like someone is covering the speakers with their hands. The next few things I noticed confirmed my suspicion that this product is not at all what is advertised. When I received the speaker, the box was already open. After I removed the packaging from the speaker it was easy to tell that the speaker was used when it was advertised as 'new'. I looked even more closely and it was easy to see that someone else's fingerprints were still there. The manual just has a big sticker covering the original specs with supposedly new specs. This is really disappointing and we will be returning this product as soon as possible. This is a complete scam. If you are still interested in this product, do not buy it here, go directly to the Alpatronix website where you can buy a real Alpatronix AX 500 40W.
