Take care of your winter wool clothes and save a pack!

Just a quick update. This cleaner also did a great job on a stained leather bag. I remembered reading that it was safer for wool because it doesn't contain the protein-breaking enzymes found in most cleaners. So he thought it was worth it. I'm not sure what was in my purse, but it was sticky, dark, and surrounded by spreading discoloration. I applied some of this wool shampoo to my fingertips and rubbed it into the soiled area, then washed it off with a washcloth. This wallet, by the way, was custom made for me in a tannery from very soft, barrel-dyed, taupe leather. When everything dried, the trail disappeared as if it had never been there. I don't know if this works for all blemishes, but you can try it if you have this problem. ***** Here is a list of items I will never dry clean again: Jacket Thick bouclรฉ cardigan Very heavy double knit wool jacket A couple of thick high quality cashmere sweaters A couple of thin lower quality cashmere sweaters Hard machine knit English worsted sweater wool each went through the washing machine on a gentle cycle, briefly in the dryer on gentle (warm) heat to remove any wrinkles from the spin cycle, and then hung on a dryer or shower rack to dry. Each of them came out in better shape than they were, with the possible exception of the washed wool jacket, which looks a little less felty but infinitely softer and more comfortable. and entwined so tightly that it was like wearing armor. It's gotten softer, a little more stretchy (thank goodness) and finally like a sweater instead of a box. I've washed everything in a top loading washing machine with the same colors but otherwise didn't do anything special to protect them. Washed 20 things and a lot of shampoo. This wool shampoo is worth every penny - not only for the savings on dry cleaning, but also for the moth repellency that used wool clothes attract. All my wool (except for a few other winter coats I recently put aside) is now clean and gathered up for the summer. I'm so thankful I found this and would recommend it unconditionally. If like me you live in a cold climate and depend on wool to keep you warm, then this should be an essential part of your laundry supply.
