Cheap but works!: Remote starter

What I like. cheap and pretty easy. What I do not like. Looks cheap and feels cheap. Looks a lot like a real keyless remote but the texture, finish and plastic are clearly a lot cheaper than the OEM. But it's inexpensive. I bought my 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser with a key and no remote. I read somewhere that if you don't have a bare bones base model you can buy a remote control and it will work. It does! I watched two YouTube videos on how to program the remote, the first one that came up on google didn't work as it lacked the steps to properly put the car into programming mode. The second from Dirona worked great. There are no instructions but they direct you to some kind of online forum or something. I just googled the video. Very easy. like, something like.

Pros
  • Rugged finish
Cons
  • No instructions
