I have a couple of these remotes and the biggest problem I have is my kids dropping them and knocking out the batteries or ripping out part of the battery cover. This definitely prevents both and also adds some cushioning to the remote. However, the strap doesn't hold up too well, as it only goes through the thin silicone case and not through the remote control itself. Well, one of the two I bought broke after just a few days because the remote was between the pillows and my daughter was trying to pull it out by the cord. Thanks to the silicone, it sticks better to the sofa, which also helps prevent the remote control from sliding further and further on the sofa. Just don't pull the cord out of the sofa and everything will be fine!
