This plug is dangerous! Although its "rated power" is 15A and 1.8kW for "peak load", just under 1000W and 9A continuous load, this unit felt hot and exceeded 108*F. I can't imagine how this thing gets hot when you approach the maximum load. I can confirm that the load I'm monitoring is only about 975 watts and 8 amps with Kill-A-Watt, so I know for sure that I haven't exceeded the advertised limits. When the outside temperature of this device reached 108 degrees, I can't imagine how hot its internal parts got. The design should definitely be reconsidered with active cooling or better heat dissipation, otherwise there will be fires. I've ordered two of these but I'm wary of even tying it to what happened to this one and can't imagine it would work any other way. literally.
